Thrive encourages people to improve their lives through healthy choices and daily activity.

At Thrive, health lifestyles is at the very core of what we do, and has been since our inception. Simply put: So many of our health problems, both physical and fiscal, are due to unhealthy lifestyle choices. We don’t choose health foods. We consume to much sugar and processed food. We smoke, we drink, we don’t exercise. We drive everywhere, rather than building movement into our lives through active transportation.

In one sense, fixing these things — and thus improving our health — is easy. We know what to do, but we just don’t do it. And societal messages, advertising, and peer pressure just re-enforce unhealthy choices. Making healthy decisions, day after day, consistently, can be exhausting!

We believe that the health choice should be the easy choice. We believe a big part of that is simply making those healthy options visible, attractive, and available. That’s why we help promote farmers markets, why we press for healthy food options at restaurants, why we build trails, why we advocate for safe walking and biking, and for healthy policies.
